Sunnambu Kolathur is located in Pallikaranai. It's a neighbourhood and a fast-growing residential area in Southern part of the city. Located in proximity to the IT industry in OMR, Chennai's central business districts and the Automobile hub in GST road, Pallikaranai became a part of Chennai Corporation in July 2011. According to a 2012 report by global property consultant Knight Frank, the neighbourhood has emerged as India's 11th largest destination for investment in the residential real estate, in the list of 13-top residential destinations in the country from an investment point of view, where housing prices are expected to increase by 93 percent over a period of about five years. Pallikaranai is surrounded by Madipakkam in the northwest, Velachery in the north, Perungudi in the northeast, Kovilambakkam in the west, Thuraipakkam in the east, Nanmangalam in southwest, Medavakkam in the south and Karapakkam in the southeast on ECR. S.Kolathur Pond is surrounded by mixed residential areas on northern and eastern sides. The tank abuts Sunnambu Kolathur road on the western and southern side. The pond has been restored under the Chennai Smart City project funds.
