CMWSSB is responsible for supplying required drinking water with adequate pressure to the consumers. CMWSSB is collecting charges for the water supplied and sewerage services and the tariff has been fixed for each category of consumers for metered (for premises with Commercial and Partially commercial activities, Bulk Consumers and Institutions etc.) and un-metered premises. As of now, there is no system to account for the water being supplied and billed for. The water meters already provided in the connections are either not functioning, or damaged or not recording correct reading. Each drop of water supplied shall be accounted for. Owing to this, CMWSSB is incurring huge monitory loss
Water is one of the most neglected natural resources. Believe it or not, we consume a lot of water and also waste it in enormous quantities. Few examples would be leaving the tap on while brushing or ignoring a dripping tap in our home. As a result, a lot of prestigious water gets wasted in every household unnoticeably.
CMWSSB is responsible for supplying required drinking water with adequate pressure to the consumers. As of now, there is no system to account for the water being supplied and billed for. Hence, the consumer is tempted to collect more quantity than actually needed and waste water lethargically.
The water meters already provided in the connections are either not functioning, or damaged or not recording correct reading. In the absence of water meter, the water supplied to each customer is not recorded accurately and billed for. To streamline the procedure in billing the consumers for the water they consumed, CMWSSB has proposed to install AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) meters with data capture by wireless system using long range gateways. These meters will help to regulate the water distributed to consumers which will be useful for charging them accordingly.
