AnaiEri is a local tank owned by Public Works Department and maintained by Public Works Department. Water is partly available in the pond and is Pale Brownish in colour. The bund is in good condition. There is water hyacinth found in the pond. Fishes are observed. Aquatic birds are seen around the pond.    Catchment area is connected to the pond. The tank gets storage during the monsoon and inflow from the nearby streets.  Benefits from the implementation of this project include improvement of water quality by diversion of sewage discharge and providing constructed wetland and floating wetland system. Due to de-silting, water storage will increase and made available throughout the year. Fish culture will be developed. With proper counseling and guidance by the GCC Engineers, the Resident Association will take care of the pond and hence, water body will be protected. The pond has been restored under the Chennai Smart City project funds.
