Anna Nedunsalai Tank is a local pond owned by Revenue Department and maintained by GCC. The pond is not connected to any upstream and downstream water sources. The pond gets storage during the monsoon and inflow from the nearby streets. Year around water storage is available with lower level water storage even in summer and maximum during rainy season.  De-silting provision is made to improve the storing capacity of the pond. Filter arrangement is provided for the inlet from storm water drain. Benefits from the implementation of this project include improvement of water quality by diversion of sewage discharge and providing constructed wetland and floating wetland system. Due to de-silting, water storage will increase and made available throughout the year. Fish culture will be developed. With proper counseling and guidance by the GCC Engineers, the Resident Association will take care of the pond and hence, water body will be protected. The pond has been restored under the Chennai Smart City project funds.
