SingaraNaicker Street pond is a local pond belongs to the Revenue Department and maintained by GCC.  The pond is on the east side of SingaraNaickerstreet and the other three sides are surrounded by vacant land. Water is partly filled and brownish in colour. There is no inlet and outlet to the pond. Catchment area is not connected to the water body at present. Water spread serves as catchment area. The road runoff water enters the pond during rainy seasons. The pond is not connected to any upstream and downstream water sources.  Benefits from the implementation of this project include improvement of water quality by diversion of sewage discharge and providing constructed wetland and floating wetland system. Due to de-silting, water storage will increase and made available throughout the year. Fish culture will be developed. With proper counseling and guidance by the GCC Engineers, the people of the area will take care of the pond and hence, water body will be protected.
